TaskForce’s Saving All From Each Other (SAFE) program provides support, mentorship, and resources for people who have experienced or been impacted by violence, harm, or unsafe situations.
Through one-on-one mentorship conversations and confidential surveys, participants connect with a mentor who helps them explore their experiences and identify supportive pathways forward. Our team works with youth to create S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Based) that support personal growth, academic success, career development, and access to community resources.
The program offers a safe space where participants can share at their own pace, feel heard, and access support that meets them where they are. Mentors do not replace therapists. Instead, they serve as trusted guides who help participants build goals, connect to services, and strengthen the tools they need to move forward with confidence.
As part of TaskForce’s commitment to holistic care, participants can also connect to additional services such as mentorship programs, wellness activities, food resources, clothing support, HIV prevention services, and community programming.
All services are free and confidential.
Participants in the SAFE program must:
Participation is completely voluntary, and youth are never required to share anything they are not comfortable discussing.
Youth can join the SAFE program by connecting directly with our Programs Coordinator, Sabrina Frye. Participants can also connect with the program during other TaskForce activities or programs. Our team will help guide them through the intake process and answer any questions.
Gender-based violence refers to harm that happens because of someone’s gender identity, gender expression, or sexuality. This can include emotional, physical, sexual, or psychological harm, as well as discrimination or unsafe situations.
No. Participants always control what they share. Our mentors focus on creating a safe and supportive space, and no one is required to talk about anything they are not comfortable discussing.
Mentors help participants set and work toward S.M.A.R.T. goals related to areas like school, personal growth, career development, or connecting to community resources. They provide encouragement, accountability, and help youth access the support they need.
No. Mentors are not therapists. However, our team can connect participants to mental health professionals and other support services if they are interested.
Yes. Conversations and information shared with mentors are kept confidential and participant-centered, except in situations where safety requires additional support.
